Acceptance of terms
By creating an account or using Lalela, you agree to these Terms & Conditions. If you do not agree, do not use the app.
We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of the app after an update means you accept the revised terms.
Eligibility and accounts
You must be able to form a legally binding agreement to use Lalela. You are responsible for the accuracy of the information you provide and for keeping your account credentials secure.
You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.
Acceptable use
Lalela is a community platform for neighbourhood communication, safety, marketplace listings, and local coordination. You agree to use it lawfully and respectfully.
- No harassment, hate speech, threats, or discrimination
- No fraudulent listings, scams, or misleading marketplace content
- No sharing of others’ personal information without consent
- No illegal content or activity, including emergency-system abuse or false reports
User content and community moderation
You retain ownership of content you post, but you grant Lalela a licence to host, display, and distribute it within the app so the service can function.
Community admins and moderators, and Lalela staff, may remove content or restrict accounts that violate these terms or community rules.
Purchases, memberships, and refunds
Lalela offers paid digital products such as annual memberships and community activation fees, billed through the app store or approved payment providers.
Purchases made through the Apple App Store or Google Play are subject to that platform’s own refund policy. Other purchases can be queried via support@lalela.net.
Suspension and termination
We may suspend or terminate access for accounts that violate these terms, community guidelines, or applicable law. You may delete your account at any time from within the app.
Disclaimers and limitation of liability
Lalela is provided "as is". Emergency and security features are community-coordination tools and are not a substitute for official emergency services — always contact local emergency services directly in a life-threatening situation.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Lalela is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from use of the app.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
